What does a post-op recovery nurse actually do at home?
Everything your surgeon's discharge orders require, done for you: overnight monitoring through the first 72 hours, drain and wound care, medication timing, safe positioning and transfers, compression garments, meals and hydration, and written summaries of every visit, with one nurse contact for every question, day or night.
How soon should I book a recovery nurse before surgery?
As soon as your surgery is scheduled. Booking before your surgery date guarantees your assigned RN and your overnight coverage. We then coordinate directly with your surgeon's office to confirm your procedure, post-op orders, and discharge plan.
Can I recover somewhere other than my own home?
Yes. Your home, a hotel, or a private recovery suite anywhere in our service area, across Southeastern PA and the Philadelphia suburbs. Recovering away from home is common for out-of-town patients, and we coordinate transport from the surgery center right to your door. If you need support finding lodging or a location, we provide that as well.
Is a private recovery nurse covered by insurance?
Concierge post-op nursing is private-pay, and many patients build it into the overall cost of an elective procedure. Some surgeons include it in their package price. Call us and we'll walk you through options for your procedure and dates.
